Necessities for guiding your dog:

The first thing you will need is a shipping crate, it should be of adequate size in order that your dog don’t feel any type of difficulty to stand up and turn around.

To select an appropriate “Potty area” for your dog is important.

To opt a proper “Potty Word”.

Your doberman pinschers desired cookies. I find small pieces of hot dog (the sausage) work great and your dog will enjoy them!.

The next essential thing you will need is a non ammonia cleaner. Select those which are specially for pets, “No Go” is one such example which you can purchase from pet stores.

Keep a chart to know daily wants of your doberman puppies.

Above all you need a little bit of time and patience especially if you got your doberman rescue from a chiwowa rescue shelter!.

Okay, we mentioned earlier the crate (don't you love that word)

If you can get the molded, fiberglass type of crate used when shipping by air that is the most excellent type. This will be converted into your dog's "den" and - believe it or not - he will grow to adore it. Your dog will remain in his crate every time when you are not giving him your complete attention.

The most important feature you should consider is to purchase a standard sized dog’s crate in order that your dog can move freely in it. For most young puppies, you will require a crate divider. These are very helpful because you can purchase a crate which will fit your adult dog and use it while he is still a puppy.

After that the most important feature is your dog's schedule. A young dog pup will need to go out every three hours - after each meal, after he drinks a lot of water, after he wakes up, and after playtime. I sometimes find it helpful to keep a diary of what the pup "does" and when. You will observe a pattern after about a week and this might be helpful in making a schedule.

It is essential to take your doberman pinschers every time at the same place for potty whichever you have determined if the crate door is opened. It is also important to get his preferred snack with you.

Stay with your dog and allow him to lead if possible. You absolutely should not play with him. Your dog must learn from the starting that this is not playtime or walk time, it is "potty time."

Once your dobermans start relieving, select a word for potty. Familiarize him with that word so that every time you say that word, he should go out instantly. Whenever you think that the puppy is learning it, express the word pleasingly and praise him for the successful completion of the task.

When he completes, offer him a "snack" and admire him profusely! Take the pup back inside for food, playtime, etc. Keep in mind to take him back outside after food or playtime. After twenty minutes, it's back in the crate for both relax and reinforcement. Continue this cycle until the evening.

I personally don't give food and water after 10:00 p.m. to my doberman pinchers. This seems to help the pup stay clean all through the night. At bedtime, move the crate to your bedside. Make sure your dog is in a draft-free place and has plenty of warm bedding.

(I have observed that a cold puppy is soon a "wet" puppy.) Most puppies will settle in fairly well if they are close to your bed. When the pup wakes up in the morning, he will kick up a fuss to go out. Keep in mind your spot and treats!
