I bought my two dachshunds four years ago and they are called Jack and Jill. The lady ,Jill tops the scales at only 14 lbs and the male is eighteen lbs. Someone elses misfortune was my luck as the previous owners passed away 3 years ago about a year apart. I had no intention of breeding these wieners.The surprising thing is I have had 4 litters to date. .I think the puppies are the coolest pups Ive ever seen. . I was really sad being away when Jill had her 1st litter. . I didn't realize she was so near to having the pups because when I got her she was already pregnant. When I arrived home I found one pup on my lounge. We found more pups behind the toilet,one was still in the sack and not breathing.
Jill was daunted of the dachshund puppies . We put her down on the ground and place the pup next to her so it could try and suckl. . Fortunately about an hour or so later Jill took to the new little chap so we were all delighted. . We thought we only had the two pups after looking around and finding no more.
Three hours further on after such a painful day we decided to turn in. We took Jill and her baby dachsund up with us so we could keep an eye on them. . Finally when they were both glad my husband turned off the light so the four of us could turn in for the night. Just as he made his way over to the light he thought he could notice a little noise in the corner.
He slowly peeked behind the door as he didnt want to scare anyone. . What he discovered was another pup lying in the bed with my other dog Jade. Jade was slobbering it all over making sure that it was ok. My other dog is an 80 lb half pit bull half boxer lady named Jade.
Jade had to have an operation when younger so was never able to have a dachshund . What is really odd is that she does have milk when Jill has baby doxies. Jade is fairly sure that Jills pups are her own and Jill even lets her feed her . They lay with her all the time. Jill couldnt care at all as she knows the pups are in extremely good hands with Jade. Skippy,Jill and Jade are adamant on sharing the same bed all the time, it keeps us happy as well so we dont have to get an additional bed.
The miniature dachshund has a lot of sitters. . They regularly jump onto Jade who seems exalted with all the attention she gets. Jade waggles her big old tail and snuggles them with her mouth, they adores the attention. She jumps onto them and they leap straight back at her. .She has never harm one even by mistake big as she is .
